Therese Williams
Therese Williams is a visual artist working in drawing, painting, sculpture and iPad drawing and animation. Therese is a founding member of Art and Place Research Group aka The Old Croquet Club (formed in 2017). She also collaborates with sound artist Christopher Williams. Therese explores the performative aspects of painting and drawing: gesture, mark-making, perception over time, duration, and place. She was formerly a scenic artist with ABC Film & TV, the Australian Opera, and Sydney Theatre Company. She has designed theatre productions including at Belvoir St Theatre and the Bakehouse Theatre. Therese is a graduate of both Alexander Mackie CAE and Adelaide Central School of Art. She was a finalist in the Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing (2013, 2014, 2016), The Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize (2007, 2013), the 2016 Fleurieu Food + Wine Art Prize, and was the recipient of the ACSA Professional Development Award in SALA (2013).
